Query Fan-Out Revealer browser extension
Last updated: 9 August 2026
The short version. This extension does not collect, transmit, sell or share your data. There is no server, no account and no analytics. Everything it captures stays in your browser, on your own computer.
What it captures
When you use ChatGPT, Claude or Perplexity and the assistant searches the web, the extension reads a copy of the response your browser has already received, and records:
- The prompt you typed
- The text of the answer, so brand and competitor mentions can be counted. This can be switched off in the panel, and doing so disables only mention rate and share of voice
- The search queries the assistant generated behind that prompt
- The URLs and titles of sources it retrieved, and which of those it cited
- The model name and conversation ID reported by the site
- A short excerpt of the raw response, kept only for the 15 most recent prompts, so that parsing problems can be diagnosed
It captures nothing on any other website. The extension runs only on
chatgpt.com, chat.openai.com, claude.ai and
perplexity.ai.
Where that data goes
Nowhere. Captured data is written to your browser's local extension storage
(chrome.storage.local) and read back by the extension's own panel. The
extension makes no network requests of its own — it has no backend to send anything to.
What the developer can see
Nothing. There is no telemetry, no crash reporting, and no mechanism by which captured data could reach the developer or any third party.
Retention and deletion
The 300 most recent prompts are kept, along with their answer text, and raw response excerpts for the 15 most recent. Answer text is capped per answer. Older records are discarded automatically.
Because answer text is stored, the local database can contain complete AI conversations. Anything you ask an assistant, and anything it replies, may be held on your own computer until you clear it. It is never transmitted, but it is worth knowing it is there — particularly on a shared or unencrypted machine. Untick Store answer text in the panel to stop keeping it.
You can delete everything at any time using Clear all in the panel. Uninstalling the extension also removes its stored data. Neither action needs to reach us, because nothing was ever sent.
Exports
The Export CSV and Export JSON buttons write a file to your computer through your browser's normal download process. What happens to that file afterwards is entirely up to you.
